  I hired Black Tie to install a new carpet in our living room, and upstairs hallway. The house has many strange corners and turns, and their installers were able to cut the carpet perfectly. I was very impressed by their skills and professionalism. Plus, their prices were extremely fair. I highly recommend them.

  Had a severe house fire in 2011. As part of the remodel Black Tie flooring was hired to do all the flooring. I had a custom tile shower installed in my main floor bathroom. After a few years I noticed the grout starting to break away and crack on the floor and around the edges of the wall. It has been just over 5 years now.
  
  I called around to see about getting this fixed and possibly just replacing the cracked grout. However when I went to the basement below I discovered water damage because the pan has been leaking. Thank god my basement isn't finished.
  
  When I reached out to them about this they stated that there is only a one year warranty on all work done. Their operations manager stated that where I have cracks in grout is a common failure point. Upon doing research of my own, they make special caulk that mimics grout for that specific application. Use the right product and do the job right the first time. They offered me a $450 credit towards hiring them to do the project again which will cost me almost $1,000 out of pocket. At the same time stating that they accept no culpability. Who's fault is it that it failed then? Bad product or bad install, either way don't hire this company.
  
  I don't feel like spending another $1,000 to hire someone to do a project that I can't trust to do right, because they didn't do it right the first time. Not only that, but it would only have a 1 year warranty again. Am I supposed to spend $1000 every couple years to have my shower redone? I know plenty of people with showers from the 70s with no leaks.
  
  I recommend you save your time and more importantly money and hire someone else to do your flooring.
